How is a SATA disk faster than an IDE if i run the pc on IDE channel? - fastest sata harddisk
Everyone says SATA faster than IDE, but since I am installing Windows XP-year-old, does not recognize my hard drive when I leave the SATA mode in BIOS. I always have in the IDE. I understand that slower, but it would be a SATA-IDE runs on the way to be faster than an IDE drive?

No, and no speed advantage to SATA anyway with the current generation of hard drives consumption. The SATA interface is the real rate of return much faster than IDE-capable, but still no hard drive that can enjoy these faster speeds.
The very fast hard drives on the market, the data speeds of up to 128 Mb / s transfer that meets the requirements of the old ATA-133 IDE interface. So it's really not lost ground to let in IDE mode.
They are not above the transmitter, no matter how fast a device placed into the canal. This will be a bottleneck.
